7 Movies with a Twisted Climax
Hello again! Welcome back to my blog. I hope you really liked my previous post. This time it's about movies filled with twists and cliffhangers because who doesn't enjoy the element of surprise :-P . So, here are 7 of my favorite suspense/thriller movies which will give you a run for your money.
P.S. No spoilers included, so you can scroll through the article without jeopardizing your 'yet to watch' movies list.
Gone Girl (2014)
The first one to make it to the list is David Fincher's masterpiece- Gone Girl. In the movie, Nick's wife Amy suddenly goes missing on the day of their 5th wedding anniversary and the police, media and all the evidences point out at Nick being the prime suspect. However, in the second half the story takes a different turn which will make you bite your nails until the climax.
Scream (1996)
A classic teenage slasher film with a typical 90s American theme where a year after Sidney's mother is killed, she is terrorized by a new killer who is going after her friends by playing horror games with them. You just can't guess who's the killer in this movie.
The Others (2001)
The movie starts with Grace (Nicole Kidman) moving in her new home with her 2 kids who are allergic to sunlight. Weird right? So to make sure her kids are not exposed to sunlight, she keeps the windows and open spaces in the house covered with dark curtains. In the movie, she is waiting for her husband who is gone for war. You might feel that the movie is going slow and monotonous until you watch the climax which will shatter your mind and make you think "What did I just see?"
Saw (2004)
Another classic thriller movie which never runs out of twists. Here, two men wake up in an isolated room, chained to the opposite sides of the wall with a dead body lying between them. In order to survive, they need to complete a series of messed-up tasks in the form of jigsaw puzzles given by the protagonist. The film has few disturbing scenes but it's the climax which will make you binge-watch the entire film series.
The Man From Earth (2007)
Well this movie is a cinematic gem! An effortless piece of art. In the movie, a college professor named John Oldman is quitting his job and moving to another city is bidding farewell to his co-workers. In the gathering, John claims to be MORE THAN 14000 YEARS OLD! He gives everyone a logical explanation of his claim resulting in a mysteriously nail-biting revelation.
The Gift (2015)
A young married couple Simon and Robyn runs into Gordo, an old classmate of Simon. Their perfect married life turns into a series of uninvited gifts by Gordo which later on reveals dark secrets from Simon's past life which makes Robyn think how well she knows her spouse. This movie shows how to give your audience goosebumps with an easy plot line and simple characters.
Coherence (2013)
If you like movies where the characters open a portal to countless realities of their own world then this movie is for you! In this film a group of eight friends are having a dinner party while a comet passes overhead. Strange things starts happening as the door to multiple parallel universes is opened which reveals mysteries and dark secrets from past lives resulting in chaos between the characters.
So these were my favorite spine-tingling movies. Tell me about yours in the comment section below!
